Summer is a time for ice cream cones, dresses and sneakers, afternoons spent at the pool, and sweating all of your makeup off. We’ve all been there, where we want to have a decent amount of coverage but end up regretting it because of the summer heat. While I do take a break from makeup once in a while, as a general rule I prefer wearing basics like foundation, brow gel, and mascara regardless of where I’m going or what I’m doing. I’ve spent the past month or so testing out products that will have a smooth transition right into summer, and all of them happen to be from the same brand.
Glossier has easily become one of my favorite makeup and skincare companies, with a foolproof approach and a minimal makeup line that I love. Their main focus is on skincare, and the makeup is merely enhances natural beauty, being one of the first brands to embrace being a real human being, and not try to cover that. The brand and products are fun, but simple, and buildable in the sense of how much coverage you’d like, and how much makeup you want to wear. Check out some of their products that have become staples in my day-to-day life, and will become your ultimate summer makeup essentials.
Glossier Priming Moisturizer
I’m all about saving money and effort, and if I can get moisturizer and primer all in one product, then consider me a happy clam. I will attest to the claim that this formula reduces redness, and for that reason alone I wear this every single day, even if I’m not wearing makeup. It also smooths the skin a bit, giving it a nice and even texture.
Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint in Light
Considering how sheer this foundation formula is, I’m surprised that I like it as much as I do. I’ve been making a conscious effort to wear less makeup, and focus more on skincare, so that I can improve skin rather than covering it up. This foundation is super light coverage, but it does even out tone, and give the skin an overall dewy, smooth finish, without looking like you have makeup plastered on your face. Ya know, like people can actually see that you have a face. Plus, it feels like you aren’t wearing anything at all. This foundation is going to be perfect for summer because of how light and breathable it is, giving an even color without having to worry about it sweating off.
Glossier Stretch Concealer in Light
God, and the rest of the human population, knows that I need concealer on the reg. I’ve got it all: dark circles, blemishes, redness, but luckily there isn’t ever a lot of it. This concealer has buildable medium coverage, but doesn’t actually look like concealer. It does have a slight dewy finish, and it blends into skin f l a w l e s s l y.
Glossier Cloud Paint in Haze
I don’t wear blush all the time, but when I do I wear Cloud Paint. Bear in mind that a little goes a long way, so a teeny tiny dot of this on the apples of your cheeks is more than enough. It is buildable and blends easily, and gives such a nice glow.
Glossier Boy Brow in Brown
This product has gotten a lot of hype ever since it debuted, and now I can confirm that the hype is for good reason. I love having thicker, filled-in brows, and this gel does that, adds a touch of color, and frames the brows, all without the harsh look that a pencil or pomade would give. The formula thickens brows, and is seriously magic.
Considering the fact that the showroom is a mere fifteen minute walk from my apartment, I can assure this isn’t the last post that I’ll be making about Glossier this summer.
